The biggest jewellery trends at Cannes Film Festival 2024

The yearly Cannes Film Festival has always been a big annual moment for glamour and style, with celebrities gracing the red carpet in beautiful couture and incredible jewellery. This year, Cannes 2024 did not disappoint, showcasing some of the most extravagant and trendsetting jewellery pieces. From evening necklaces and bracelets to matching jewellery sets and stacks of necklaces, including the ever-popular tennis necklaces, here are the biggest jewellery trends we spotted on the famous carpet.

Evening necklaces and bracelets

Evening necklaces and bracelets were a major highlight at Cannes 2024, with stars opting for bold, statement pieces that added a touch of opulence to their ensembles. Large, intricate designs featuring gemstones and diamonds were spotted all over the A-listers.

Chandelier necklaces & earrings

Chandelier necklaces and earrings, reminiscent of ornate chandeliers with their cascading layers of gems and diamonds, were a standout trend. These pieces, often featuring a mix of diamonds and colored gemstones, brought a dramatic flair to evening gowns, especially those with low cut necklines.

Cuff bracelets

Cuff bracelets and bangles made a significant comeback, adding modern edge to the classic red-carpet look. These wide, often intricately designed bracelets were worn solo or stacked, creating a striking visual impact.

Matching jewellery sets

Matching jewelry sets – usually consisting of coordinating necklaces, earrings, and bracelets – were a big trend at Cannes 2024. This cohesive approach to accessorising gives your look a polished edge. Take a look at our Astra sets and Elara sets, for more set-spiration.

Tennis necklaces

Tennis necklaces, known for their simple, continuous line of diamonds, were a popular choice for stacking. These versatile pieces were layered with other necklaces of varying lengths and styles, creating a textured and multidimensional look.

Mixed metals

Another trend within the stacking phenomenon was the mix of metals and styles. Gold, silver, and platinum jewellery pieces were combined to create a rich, eclectic look. This trend allowed for a personalised touch, as celebrities mixed vintage and modern pieces to reflect their individual styles. Check out our guide to mixing and matching metals, here.
