Happy birthday Gwyneth Paltrow… our SAPPHIRE SWEETHEART

We would like to wish Gwyneth Paltrow a very happy birthday who turns 42 on Saturday!

For those of you who live in a cave, Gwyneth is an American actress, singer, and food writer, most famous for her role in The Talented Mr Ripley.

Since her birthstone is Sapphire, we have picked three of Gwyneth’s best blue outfits and added a piece of Diamond Store jewellery.

We have added a simple sapphire necklace to match this stunning silk gown.

It looks like GP likes silk, and to match this baby blue dress we have chosen our classic blue topaz earrings.

Lastly we have matched this beautiful midnight blue dress with a white diamond and sapphire ring.

Diamonds, Camera and…. ACTION

Playing dress up is every girl’s dream, and this is exactly what we did when we invited five bloggers down to our #MillionDollarBlogger day at Venture Studios in Knightsbridge.

diamond store-048

The Diamond Store team were hard at work, sourcing the best outfits and hand-picking diamonds for the bloggers to model. Having raided Oxygen Boutique in Soho with stylist Hayley Korn, they then smuggled (loaned) some of the chicest outfits they have ever laid our eyes on, to turn these bloggers into the sassiest queens. I mean, how amazing does American Girl in Chelsea blogger, Christy Osborne look below?

Whilst we watched bloggers dive in and out of dresses, two pieces, skirts and play suits, the main question was what piece of jewellery would match best?! We therefore decided to let the bloggers loose and select the pieces which best matched their mood and outfit. After all, have you ever tried on a diamond necklace and instantly felt elevated in your mood? We like to call it the-diamond-effect, as quite simply, once you are ladenned in diamonds it is hard to not add an extra sparkle to your smile.

Starting off we had Life of Yablon blogger, Emma Parlons, followed by Fashion Editor Lisa Haynes. Next in line we saw the wonderful Gemma Knight from The Cheshire Magazine, followed by American Girl in Chelsea Christy Osborne. Last but not least, Nancy Gibbs from It’s a Lifestyle Thing modelled the snazziest evening gown to end the event with a bang.

To see behind the scenes of our event, check out the video below.

With huge thanks to Venture Photography for lending us their state of the art studios in Knightsbridge, to Oxygen Boutique for supplying the swankiest clothes a girl could dream of, to Hayley Korn for dressing up the bloggers, to Sara Ibgi for turning the girls into beautiful swans, and to Lauren Jacobs for styling their hair.

‘Especially for you’ we take a trip back to 80’s Jewellery

We’ve ‘turned back time’ to the 1980’s to handpick our favourite wedding dresses. After all, the trend this season has been Vintage.

1) According to Elton John, ‘there is something about the way you look tonight’ in this plush silk wedding gown and net sleeves. All that is missing is a classic diamond necklace.

2) Next in line we have ‘the power of love’ complemented with this outstanding figure hugging lace gown, with the most beautiful neckline. Our white gold collarette matches perfectly, highlighting the collarbones.

wedding dress 3

3) ‘I just called, to say I love you’, with this embellished silk dress with puffy sleeves. The detail is spectacular, and we have paired it with our classic drop down topaz earrings to add some colour.

4) The bride surely will ‘stand and deliver’ in this classic 80’s dress. The lace corset with beautiful lace trimmings takes The Diamond Store team on a trip down memory line. What better to pair the dress with a blue sapphire necklace.

5) Forget ‘woman in love’ for we are quite simply in love with this barbie doll ensemble. The mesh skirt with a collar-cut corset makes for the ultimate late 80’s bride. What better than to pair it with our stunning amethyst and diamond necklace.

Would you wear a dress from the 80’s, or are more of a the modern-day-bride? Send us in your dresses for a chance to feature on one of our blog posts! @diamondstoreuk

Get the Olivia Palermo Look!

With Fashion Week well underway, we thought we would change the tone (for now, until the shows are over) and swoon over Olivia Palermo instead.

For those of you who aren’t very familiar with Olivia Palermo, she is an American socialite and a model who keeps hitting the headlines. Olivia became more known in 2009 after being cast in the reality television series The City, which is a spin-off the popular series, The Hills.

Olivia is quite frankly seen as a total fashionista and so we have put together a little guide on how you can get the Olivia Palermo look before Winter kicks in! We have taken one of Olivia’s outfits perfect for the daytime and given you a break down on where you can get her look from, and of course we have added a piece of The Diamond Store jewellery to finish the OP ensemble.

Olivia is wearing a white Elizabeth and James Chambers dress which is £200 (at the time this article was written) and can be found on the Elizabeth and James’ website.

Here Miss Palermo is sporting a white Bulgari cross-body bag with black detail and an embellished buckle. We have picked the same bag but in coral. Why not add a little bit of colour to the outfit? The bag is £1246.91 and can be found on farfetch.com.

Olivia accessorised with a Catarzi ASOS Borcellino straw hat with a leather trim hat. The hat is £30 (at the time this article was written) and can be found on ASOS.com

She wore her outfit with some metallic pink Habbot oxfords. Seeing we have gone for a coral bag, we decided to go for baby pink lace-up brogues. They are £294.88 also from farfetch.com.

Finally to complete the look, we have a added a gold Pink Sapphire and diamond ring available from http://www.thediamondstore.co.uk

To turn this outfit into an evening one, why not add some heels and a blazer and take the hat off?

We hope to see Miss OP clones strutting around with thanks to our style guide! Which look of hers is your favourite? Tweet us @diamondstoreuk

It’s Christmas…well nearly!

Oh my goodness, it is THAT time again where all the supermarket shelves are stocked with Christmas items, YIKES!! With Christmas being just over 3 months away we thought that we would have to jump on the Christmas bandwagon too and create a Diamond Store Wish List. I mean, who else doesn’t prompt to their partner with what they would like MONTHS in advance?

To make the process easier, we have taken a piece of The Diamond Store jewellery from each category and paired it with a Bond Street classic. Need we say more?! Our pieces win every time.

Number one on our Wish List is this gorgeous Yellow Sapphire and diamond ring.

We have paired this ring with another Sapphire ring from The Natural Sapphire Company which costs a whooping  £1695.

Number two on our Wish List are these Tanzanite and diamond white gold  flower earrings for £175.

Who says you need to spend £3,650 on a pair from Tiffany and Co (below) when ours are just as dazzling?

Third on our Wish List is this diamond cluster bracelet for £2,609!! Yes, stop drooling, we love it too.

We have matched it with Cartier’s finest which costs a steep £4,400.

Fashion Weeks are here, and as we slowly but surely approach Autumn/Winter, and as shops will soon receive their first delivery of the new season we have prepared a little sneak peak of the eight key trends which you absolutely NEED  to stock up on! British people dress better in winter than they do in summer. This seems to be because we much prefer wrapping ourselves in snuggly coats and layers of soft knit. Just cause its dull and dark outside, who said you can’t sparkle? Of course you can! And to help you we’ve chosen a piece of Diamond Store jewellery to go with each fashion trend.

1) Fairy Tales come true: matched with a diamond and black diamond ring.
