Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Engagement Ring – This Is What it Could Look Like…

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Engagement Ring

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s engagement ring is the hottest topic of news right now. Since the couple were pictured together at Harry’s friend’s wedding in Jamaica, the press has been speculating about a royal engagement – and what kind of an engagement ring Harry might give Meghan.

According to the Daily Star, Harry is thought to have chosen an emerald and diamond tiara that belonged to his mother, Princess Diana, and taken it to the crown jeweller to work into a new engagement ring.

Based on this exciting information, below we’ve listed 5 possible engagement ring styles that we believe the crown jewellers could make Harry’s ring into.

1. The Royal Classic

This design is timeless and regal. It’s a strong possibility as Harry’s and Meghan’s style choice, because it is in line with the famous sapphire engagement ring that belonged to Princess Diana – and which is now worn by Duchess Catherine née Kate Middleton.

2. The Trilogy

A trilogy ring with three precious stones represents the past, the present, and the future. Emeralds symbolise youth, springtime and new beginnings. If Harry is going to have a ring made from Lady Diana’s tiara for his new wife-to-be, this would be a very fitting choice.

3. The Triband

This glamorous Old World vintage look is very fashionable right now, so we think it could be a very strong contender. Alongside the oval cut emerald in the middle, the ring has an exquisite triple band. Encircling the emerald are 12 round cut diamonds drawing light and adding sparkle.

4. The Fleur Trilogy

This ring is a variation on the above trilogy design, but its accent stone setting features four sparkling round diamonds each side of the emerald, forming a beautiful floral motif. This ring is reminiscent of traditional old European royal designs.

5. The Halo

This halo ring has a very stylish, contemporary style yet looks very elegant. The exquisite emerald in the middle is surrounded by a simple ‘halo’ of sparkling diamonds, and there are further stones along the band adding glamour and radiance. Halo rings with sidestones are very on trend, yet timeless. That’s why we think Harry could choose this style for Meghan – possibly even with a double or triple halo.

When will Harry propose?

It’s been debated in the press whether Harry might pop the question on Meghan’s birthday, on August 4th, or on Princess Diana, his mother’s birthday on July 1st.

Who will make the ring?

Crown jeweller Harry Collins is, according to the Daily Star, already at work on the gems.

Why Harry chose the emerald tiara?

After Lady Diana died in a tragic car accident, Harry and William each got to keep one of her favourite possessions as a memento. William chose her Cartier watch, while Harry picked her sapphire and diamond engagement ring.

However, the brothers agreed that whoever got engaged first, could have the ring. As we know, that was William and Kate. Now, according to the press, Harry wants the same emotion to be present when he proposes to Meghan. That’s why he has chosen one of his mother’s favourite pieces of jewellery to propose.

Diana first wore the tiara in 1988 during her Australian tour with Charles. Diana’s jewellery collection is held in a trust for the two princes, and it’s said that Meghan loves emeralds. We think it’s a fantastic choice!
