A Perfect Chief Bridesmaid Outfit in Coral & Rose Gold

A titian sunset tinged with gold. Lush, peach-coloured garden roses. Glasses of bubbly sipped on the lawn as you gather to celebrate two dear old friends getting married. These are the gorgeous, sparkly, lovely things that create British summertime wedding magic.

And you, dear Chief Bridesmaid?
You may be a little teary-eyed with happiness, but you’re honoured and ready to stand by your best friend on her most important day. Dressed to perfection, of course. In a blushing outfit that’s feminine and oh-so grown up. Coral, rose gold and sun-drenched shades of pink and praline make up this wedding season’s most stunning palette for bridesmaids.

Tips for picking a perfect Chief Bridesmaid outfit
Some brides know exactly what kind of a dress they want you to wear. But the recent trend has been to take a more flexible approach. She’ll probably give you some idea of colour and style, then let you choose. Here are a few tips before the shopping commences.

Agree on who pays. Have a chat first to check whether the bride is paying for your outfit, or if she expects you to pay for your own. Both options are acceptable etiquette-wise.

Work out a budget. Take into account the dress, shoes, bag, pashmina or shrug and jewellery. Don’t forget about the hairdressers!

Choose a style that’s simple and elegant. Outrageous bridesmaid dresses are a no-no. If possible, buy one that’s timeless so you can wear it again and again.

Colour. This is important if the bride has set one. But she may be happy for you to pick from a range of shades. If so, pick a hue that suits you but avoid colours too close to the bride’s dress.
